I am a PhD candidate in political science at the University of Pennsylvania and a Dissertation Fellow with the National Academy of Education.  My work has also been funded by an American Institute of Indian Studies Junior Fellowship.  I will complete my PhD in June 2016.  In July 2016 I will join the faculty of the Harvard Graduate School of Education as an Assistant Professor of International Education.

Before starting at UPenn, I worked as a research associate for the Poverty Action Lab in India and completed my B.A. in Political Science and Economics at Stanford University in 2007.  My dissertation explores the politics of service privatization in India over the last 20 years.  My areas of specialization are comparative politics, political economy, and South Asian politics.
